Friars Baseball Club is a Travel Baseball Organization based in South Orange County, Ca. Founded by two former professional baseball players and collegiate coaches. After almost 3 decades of experience as private instructors as well as collegiate and high school coaches our Founders Ryan Dambach and Tyler Rahmatulla wanted to combine their knowledge and experience to provide the best development opportunity for their sons and players in the surrounding community. Starting with a 13u and 11u teams in the fall of 2023 Ryan and Tyler hope to guide their teams through the completion of high school. Their goal is to help their athletes develop the physical and mental skills necesarry to become the best version of themselves both on and off the field.
Friars Baseball Club believes that long term success is the byproduct of the consistent application of certain controllable skill sets. In order to achieve the development of these skills Friars Baseball Club focuses on three areas of development...
Physical
The learning, development and mastery of fundamental physical skills through both time tested and innovative drills that maximize efficiency and place each athlete in the best position to be successfull pitch to pitch. It's these skill sets that translate to success at higher levels of play.
Developing a deep understanding of why certain mechanical adjustments are beneficial to the athlete's overall development.
Gaining an understanding of how to prepare the body physically for competition and recover after practice and games.
Mental
Understanding how our mental state impacts performance.
Developing certain mental skills that allow the athlete to not only deal with the challenges of the sport but also to help them to maintain an optimal mindset during competition so that they can increase their performance and enjoyment of the sport. (mental skills include: breathing, self talk, process orientation, visualization and purpose)
Having an understanding of and utilizing an "approach" or plan of attack both at the plate an on the mound.
Emotional
Cultivating self awareness to recognize when the athlete isn't in an emotional state that leads to success.
Understanding how their emotional state impacts the mindset and physical performance
Using their emotions as an indicator for their current mental state and then applying the mental skills learned to shift that state into a more positive & empowering frame of mind.
It's through the development of these three areas of performance that will allow our athletes to experience long term success in whatever endeavor they choose to pursue.
